Healthcare apps for Dubai hospitals and health networks, held to UAE data law.

We provide healthcare app development Dubai hospital groups, multi facility networks and specialist centres can put in front of patients and clinicians alike. A single app carries the patient record, results, telehealth visits, admissions, pharmacy and follow up care across every facility you run, while the systems behind it talk to your hospital information system and to NABIDH, the Dubai Health Authority's health information exchange.

Health data in the UAE must, as a rule, be stored and processed inside the country under Federal Law No. 2 of 2019. We design hosting, integrations and every third party service around that rule first, then build the patient experience on top.

Patient and clinician features

One app for the whole patient path, not one per department.

Large Dubai providers often end up with a patchwork: an appointment app from one vendor, a results portal from another, a telehealth link sent by SMS and a separate pharmacy service. Patients do not care which department owns which screen. They want to see their own record, talk to a doctor, collect a prescription and know what happens after discharge. Behind that, your organisation has to satisfy DHA licensing for every service offered digitally, report to NABIDH, keep health data within the UAE and handle insurance under the emirate's mandatory health cover. A medical app that serves one hospital well can still fail a network of six facilities. We plan the platform around a single patient identity and a shared integration layer, so new services plug in without another separate app. The features below are the ones Dubai hospital groups most often ask for, listed roughly in the order patients encounter them.

Explain your project
  • Unified patient record

Visits, diagnoses, allergies, medications, vaccinations and discharge summaries pulled from your hospital information system through HL7 FHIR or your vendor's interface. Patients see one history across every facility in your network, and family members can be given access with the patient's consent.

Patients stop carrying paper files between your sites.

  • Lab and radiology results

Results are released to the app once a clinician approves them, with plain language explanations and a prompt to book a follow up when needed. Imaging reports appear with the option to share them securely with another treating doctor in the UAE.

Fewer calls asking whether results are back.

  • Telehealth across specialties

Scheduled and on demand video visits that follow DHA's telehealth requirements: identity checks, informed consent, clinical documentation and e-prescriptions within each doctor's licence. Interpreters or a family member can join the call, and every session is logged in the patient file.

Remote care documented as carefully as an outpatient visit.

  • Admissions and inpatient stay

Pre admission forms, consent and insurance approvals before arrival, then room details, meal choices, visiting rules and a direct line to the nursing station during the stay. Relatives get updates the patient has chosen to share.

Calmer admissions and fewer questions at the ward desk.

  • Pharmacy and medication refills

Prescriptions from any of your doctors appear in the app, with refill requests, collection at a chosen hospital pharmacy or home delivery inside Dubai where your licence permits. Dose reminders and interaction warnings support patients on long term treatment.

    Better adherence for chronic patients.

  • Home care and remote monitoring

After discharge, nurses schedule home visits, patients log blood pressure, glucose or weight, and connected devices feed readings to the care team. Alerts flag readings outside the range a clinician sets, so follow up happens before a readmission.

Recovery watched outside the hospital walls.

  • Identity, consent and access

Sign in with UAE Pass or Emirates ID for residents and a passport flow for visitors, with multi factor checks and session timeouts. Consent for sharing, research use and family access is recorded and can be withdrawn by the patient at any time.

Clear proof of who agreed to what.

  • Insurance and billing

Patients see their insurer, network tier and pre approval status, pay co-payments or self pay bills by card or Apple Pay, and download itemised invoices. Claims data flows to your revenue cycle team for submission through DHA's eClaimLink.

    Fewer billing disputes at discharge.

  • Patient messaging and care navigation

Secure messages routed to the right department, not a shared inbox, with expected reply times shown to the patient. A care navigator can guide someone from a symptom question to the correct specialty, book the slot and send preparation instructions, all inside the same conversation thread that stays in the patient record.

Questions answered by the right team the first time.

  • Clinician and operations console

Doctors review telehealth queues, results awaiting release and patient messages from one screen. Operations teams track bed requests, digital check in rates and response times by facility, without exposing clinical detail to staff who do not need it.

Each team sees only what its role requires.

Where this fits

Four healthcare organisations that call us.

A hospital group adding telehealth has different priorities from a rehabilitation centre building home monitoring, and both differ from a provider inside Dubai Healthcare City, which answers to its own regulator rather than DHA. Before we propose anything we confirm which authority licenses each facility, which hospital information system you run and what your data hosting already looks like. These are the starting points we meet most often.

01

Hospital groups with several facilities

Groups running hospitals, medical centres and pharmacies across Dubai want one front door for patients. We connect each facility's systems to a shared integration layer, build a single patient identity, and roll services out facility by facility. Telemedicine app development usually sits in the first phase because it gives patients an immediate reason to install the app, followed by results, pharmacy and admissions. Each facility can launch on its own date once its integrations pass testing, so a delay at one hospital does not hold up the rest of the group.

One patient identity across the network comes first.

02

Providers in Dubai Healthcare City

Facilities in the healthcare free zone are licensed by the Dubai Healthcare City Authority rather than DHA, and some serve many international patients. We map the rules that apply to your licence, plan consent and records for patients who live abroad, and keep data handling within UAE law regardless of where the patient is based. Visitors arriving for planned treatment can complete registration, upload previous reports and agree a care plan before they fly, then use the same app during their stay and for follow up once home.

03

Diagnostic and rehabilitation centres

Labs, imaging centres, physiotherapy and rehab providers need results delivery, referral intake from outside doctors and long programmes of repeat sessions. The app tracks each programme, shows exercises between visits and shares progress with the referring physician, with the patient's permission recorded. Referring doctors can receive reports through a secure link rather than by fax or email attachment, and the centre sees which referrers send the most patients.

04

Home healthcare providers

Home nursing and elderly care companies across Dubai need booking, visit verification, care notes and family updates, plus a field app for nurses with offline notes for buildings with weak signal. We plan routing between Dubai communities and the reporting a home care licence requires. Families receive a short summary after each visit, and supervisors can see when a nurse arrived and left without relying on phone calls.

Field staff get their own app with offline notes.

Six stages for a healthcare app that passes clinical and legal review.

  1. 01Clinical and regulatory discoveryWorkshops at your Dubai facility with clinicians, IT, compliance and patient services to list every service going digital and the licence, standard and consent each one needs.
  2. 02Systems and data mappingWe document your hospital information system, lab and imaging systems, NABIDH connection and insurer links, and decide where each record lives inside the UAE.
  3. 03Patient centred designArabic and English screens for patients of every age, tested with real patients and nurses, with accessibility for low vision and limited dexterity.
  4. 04Secure build and integrationDevelopment in short cycles with encryption, audit logs and role based access built in, and integrations tested against your vendor's test environments.
  5. 05Security and clinical sign offPenetration testing, a data protection review and clinical safety checks with your medical director before any patient sees the app.
  6. 06Phased go live and supportOne facility or service line goes first, with monitoring, incident response and regular updates as DHA guidance and your services change.

Technology

What we build this with.

Flutter or native Swift and Kotlin for the apps, a FHIR based integration layer, and hosting in UAE cloud regions so health data stays in the country. Encryption at rest and in transit, full audit trails and PDPL aligned privacy controls are standard.

Questions hospitals and health networks ask us.

Integration, data hosting and regulatory work make up a large share of the effort.

The screens patients see are only part of the build. Behind them sit connections to your hospital information system, lab and imaging systems, NABIDH, insurers and payment providers, plus UAE based hosting, security testing and clinical sign off. We scope each of these separately, so you can see where time and budget go and which parts depend on your existing vendors. Many delays in hospital projects come from waiting on a third party interface, so we raise those requests in the first weeks rather than near launch.
