School apps that keep Dubai parents, teachers and bus teams on the same page.

Codeeo offers school app development in Dubai for private K to 12 schools and school groups. We build the parent app, the teacher app and the office console that handle daily attendance, notices, fee payments, permission slips and bus tracking. Families get one place to check on their children, and your office stops chasing replies across emails, printed letters and class chat groups.

This is not a learning platform or an online course app. It is the operational layer of a school: who is in class, who is on which bus, what parents need to sign, what is owed, and what is happening this week across every year group. It complements your learning platform rather than competing with it.

Built for
Private schools, nurseries attached to schools and multi campus school groups in Dubai.
Typical timeline
Agreed in discovery around your academic calendar, with launch usually planned for a term start rather than mid term.
What you own
The code, the app store listings, the console and all student and parent records, kept in accounts the school controls.

What the app covers

The daily school admin parents and staff actually deal with.

Parents in Dubai rarely complain about the curriculum through an app. They complain that the bus was late and nobody told them, that a trip form went missing in a school bag, or that a fee reminder arrived after the deadline. Those are the gaps we close first.

The features below are grouped around three users: the parent with one or several children, the class teacher or tutor, and the office team handling admissions, fees and transport. A school can start with communication and attendance and add fees, transport or clubs in later releases. Everything reads from your student information system so registers and class lists are not typed twice, and staff permissions decide who sees what.

Dubai schools also run to a calendar unlike most places: a shorter Friday at many schools, Ramadan timetables, mid year intakes for families relocating to the city, and outdoor events planned around the summer heat. The app is configured for that calendar rather than a generic one.

Explain your project
  • Parent home for every child

One login shows each child in the family, even across different year groups or campuses. Parents see today's timetable changes, upcoming events, outstanding forms and fees per child, so a family with three children does not open three separate apps.

Parents find what they need in one glance, every morning.

  • Attendance and absence reporting

Teachers take registers on a tablet or phone, and parents report a sick day or a late arrival with a reason before the bell. The office sees unexplained absences early and can call home while there is still time to act. Late arrivals logged at reception appear on the register automatically.

Absences are explained the same morning, not chased days later.

  • Notices and targeted messages

Announcements go to the whole school, a phase, a year group, a class or a single family, with read receipts. Urgent alerts, such as an early closure on a stormy day, are marked so parents notice them among the routine updates.

The right parents get the right message, and staff know who has read it.

  • Permission slips and consent forms

Trips, swimming, photography consent and medical forms are signed in the app with a clear deadline. Teachers see who has replied, and reminders go only to families still outstanding rather than to the whole class. Signed forms are stored against each child for the rest of the year.

No more lost paper forms on the morning of a trip.

  • Fee statements and payments

Termly invoices, uniform and activity charges, and payment history per child, with card and Apple Pay checkout through a UAE gateway. Instalment plans the school already offers can be shown clearly, and receipts are stored for the family.

Fees are paid on time and the finance team reconciles less.

  • School bus tracking

Parents see the live position of their child's bus and an estimated arrival, drawn from the GPS already fitted to the vehicle. The bus supervisor marks each child on and off, so the office knows who boarded before the bus reaches the gate.

Fewer anxious calls about where the bus is.

  • Pickup authorisation at the gate

Parents name who may collect a child, such as a nanny, driver or grandparent, with a photo and an expiry date. Gate staff check the list on a tablet, and parents get a message when their child leaves with someone on it. Changes for one afternoon are handled without a phone call to reception.

Safer dismissals and fewer calls to the office at three o'clock.

  • Teacher messaging with boundaries

Parents message tutors through the app rather than personal numbers. Staff set office hours, conversations are logged, and safeguarding leads can review threads when a concern is raised.

Communication stays professional and on the record.

  • Medical notes and the school clinic

Allergies, medication and emergency contacts are kept up to date by parents and visible only to the nurse and named staff. When a child visits the clinic, parents receive a short note on what happened and whether they need to collect.

The nurse works from current information and parents hear quickly.

  • Office console and reports

Admin staff manage notices, forms, fees, transport rosters and user access from a browser. Leaders see attendance trends, form completion and message reach by year group, ready for governors' meetings and regulator visits.

School leaders work from current figures, not end of term spreadsheets.

Who we build for

Four kinds of Dubai school that come to us.

Dubai's private schools follow British, American, IB, Indian and other curricula, and serve families from dozens of nationalities. Their apps need to respect that mix. These are the starting points we see most often, and how school management app development in Dubai differs for each. Clubs, parent meeting bookings and event calendars can be added for any of them once the daily essentials are working.

01

A single school replacing a generic portal

Many schools use a parent portal bundled with their student information system that works on a desktop but feels clumsy on a phone. We build a branded app on top of that system, keeping it as the source of records while giving parents a far simpler daily view. Parents keep their existing logins where the SIS supports single sign on, so the switch is painless.

Keep your SIS, give parents a better front door.

02

A school group with several campuses

Groups with campuses in Al Barsha, Mirdif and Dubai Silicon Oasis want one app with a shared brand but campus level control over notices, buses and fees. Families with children at two campuses see both in one account. Group leaders also get comparison reports across campuses on attendance, form completion and fee collection.

One app for the group, one view for each family.

03

A school running its own bus fleet

Where the school operates or contracts its buses, transport becomes a large part of the app: routes, stops, rosters, the supervisor's boarding list and parent alerts. We design this around the RTA requirements your transport team already follows. Summer heat in Dubai makes waiting at bus stops unpleasant, so accurate arrival alerts matter more here than in many cities.

Transport handled as a core feature, not an add on.

04

A new school preparing to open

A school opening in a new community needs admissions enquiries, waiting lists, uniform orders and a welcome flow for families before the first term. We build the app to grow with the school as year groups are added. Admissions data flows straight into the student record once a place is accepted, so nothing is rekeyed.

Ready for the first parents, scaled for the full school.

Six stages from first meeting to a term start launch.

  1. 01Discovery on campusWe meet your principal, office, transport and IT leads at the school in Dubai and walk through a normal day from the first bus to the last club pickup.
  2. 02Systems and data reviewYour student information system, finance software and bus GPS provider are reviewed so the app reads class lists, fees and positions without manual exports. Any gaps in the data are listed early so they can be fixed at source.
  3. 03Safeguarding and privacy designRoles, consent, data retention and messaging rules are agreed with your safeguarding and data leads before screens are designed.
  4. 04Parent and staff designScreens in English and Arabic, tested with a small group of parents and teachers, including grandparents and drivers who collect children.
  5. 05Pilot with one year groupA single year group or campus uses the app for a few weeks so registers, forms and bus alerts are tuned before the whole school joins. Feedback from the pilot is written up and agreed before wider rollout.
  6. 06Whole school launch and supportLaunch is timed for a term start, with parent guides, staff training and support through the busy first weeks of term.

Technology

What we build this with.

We choose tools that fit your student information system, your finance software and the IT team who will support the app afterwards. One cross platform codebase covers iOS and Android, and the console runs in any browser. Hosting can be in the UAE where your data policy requires it.

Questions Dubai schools ask before building an app.

It depends on scope, but launch is best planned around a term start.

A first release with notices, attendance and forms is quicker than one that also covers fees, buses and clubs. Integration with your student information system is often the deciding factor. We agree the scope and milestones in discovery and work back from the term you want to launch in, leaving time for a pilot. Launching mid term is possible, but parents and staff adopt new tools more easily at a natural break. A pilot with one year group usually reveals small changes that make the full launch smoother.
