Meecon came to Codeeo with a clear brief. Attendees, speakers and organisers needed to work from one place during each event, instead of paper and email.
About the client
Meecon runs conferences, where the programme changes up to the morning of the event and sometimes during it.
What they needed
Printed programmes are out of date the moment a session moves, and the fallback, an email to everyone, reaches attendees who are already in a hall with their phone on silent.
Delegates needed the agenda, the speakers and the room changes in their hand, and the organisers needed to change all of it without reprinting or resending anything.
What we built
A conference app that carries the programme, the speakers and the venue detail, with a personal agenda a delegate can build for themselves.
Organisers update sessions, rooms and times from one place, and the change reaches every phone rather than sitting in an inbox.
The app was built to work in a crowded hall, where connectivity is unreliable and hundreds of people open the same screen at the same moment.
How we worked
We designed around the day itself rather than around the sign up, because an event app is judged in the four hours it is actually used.
The content structure was set so that next year's event reuses the same app rather than starting again.
The app, the store listings and the content are the organiser's, and the programme is theirs to run each year.
