Nursery and childcare apps built around how Riyadh families get through the day.

Childcare management app development Riyadh nurseries and kindergartens can run their day on: a parent app for check in, pickup and daily reports, a staff app for classrooms, and an admin dashboard for enrolment, fees and branch reporting. Riyadh parents often commute long distances across the north of the city and hand pickup to a driver or relative, so the app has to make every handover traceable and every update arrive while the parent is still at work.

Our Riyadh team plans the product with you in Arabic and English, and the same people who scope it stay to build it. The aim is a nursery where parents trust the information they receive and staff spend more time with children than with paperwork.

What the app covers

Features shaped by Riyadh commutes, drivers and working parents.

A Riyadh nursery day starts early. Parents drop children on the way to offices in Olaya, King Abdullah Financial District or a ministry building, then may not return until the late afternoon traffic clears. Many families send a driver for pickup. Others rely on grandparents or a sibling. That pattern shapes what the app must do well: confirm who is collecting a child, tell parents what happened during the day without them phoning, and give managers a clear view of every room.

The features below are a starting set. We cut or add during discovery, depending on whether you run one centre in Al Yasmin or several branches across the north and east of the city, and whether you serve families directly or run a nursery for an employer. We also look at the devices you have: shared classroom tablets, teachers' own phones, or a mix, since that changes how log in, offline use and photo storage should work in each room.

Explain your project
  • Authorised pickup with driver profiles

Parents register each person allowed to collect their child, including family drivers, with a photo and a one time code for each handover. Staff see the authorised list on a tablet at the door, and the parent gets a notification the moment the child leaves with someone.

No child leaves with an unverified adult.

  • Arrival and departure log

Quick check in by QR code or staff tap, with time stamps per child and per room. Late arrivals and early departures are recorded with a reason, which helps when parents ask about the day or when ratios need checking.

An accurate attendance record for every room.

  • Daily reports in Arabic and English

Teachers log meals, naps, nappy changes, moods and activities in a few taps. Parents read the summary in the language they choose, with right to left layouts done properly rather than mirrored at the end.

Parents at work know how the day went without calling.

  • Photos with consent controls

Photos and short videos go only to the parents of children who appear in them, and only where those parents have given consent. Group shots are held back until every family in the frame has agreed.

Families share moments without losing control of images.

  • Allergy, medication and health notes

Allergies, medicines and dosage times sit on each child's profile and appear as alerts on the classroom view. Staff record when medicine was given and by whom, and the parent sees the entry.

Health instructions are visible to every adult in the room.

  • Enrolment and waitlists across branches

Families apply once and choose preferred branches. Admins move children between waitlists, offer places and collect documents such as birth certificates and vaccination records inside the app.

Popular branches fill in order, without spreadsheets.

  • Fees, invoices and mada payments

Term or monthly invoices with mada, Apple Pay and bank transfer options, receipts in the app, and e-invoices prepared in the format ZATCA expects. Siblings and employer paid places can be billed differently.

Fewer chased payments and a clear record for both sides.

  • Employer portal for workplace nurseries

If you run a nursery for a company or government employer, its HR team can see allocated places, usage and invoices without seeing any child's personal details.

Corporate clients get reporting while families keep their privacy.

  • Staff rota and room ratios

Managers plan shifts per room and the app warns when the number of children checked in outgrows the staff on duty, so cover can be moved before it becomes a problem.

Ratios managed in the moment, not reconstructed later.

  • Class messaging and announcements

Messages between parents and the class teacher sit inside the app, tied to the child, with quiet hours so teachers are not answering at night. Managers can send announcements to one room, one branch or every family, for example when a sandstorm warning changes outdoor play or Ramadan shortens the day.

Parent conversations leave personal WhatsApp and stay on record.

Who we build for

Four kinds of Riyadh childcare operator we work with.

Childcare in Riyadh is delivered by small independent nurseries, growing kindergarten groups, childcare hospitality centres supporting working mothers, and nurseries attached to employers. Each needs a different first release. Before we scope anything we ask which licence you hold, whether it comes through the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development or the Ministry of Education, and who pays for each place, because those answers decide what the admin side has to track.

01

An independent nursery in a residential district

A single centre in Al Malqa, An Narjis or Al Nakheel usually wants to replace paper sign in sheets, WhatsApp groups and manual fee reminders. We build a focused parent app and a light admin panel first, then add features as the centre grows. The priority is something teachers will actually use on a busy morning, with large buttons, few screens and Arabic as the default. Once that first version is settled, waitlists and online enrolment are usually the next request, because north Riyadh districts often have more families than places.

Small first release, quick adoption by staff.

02

A kindergarten group adding branches

Groups opening their second or third Riyadh branch need shared enrolment, central fees and one view of every site, while each branch manager still controls their own rooms. We set up roles so a head office team sees consolidated reporting and branch staff only see their own children and families. Fee rules, holiday calendars and report templates can be shared across the group or set per branch, which matters when one site follows a different curriculum or opening pattern from another.

Central control without exposing every record to everyone.

03

A nursery serving an employer

Riyadh has many large employers, from ministries to banks and companies with offices in the financial district, and some provide nursery places for staff. These nurseries need separate reporting for the employer, usage tracking per place, and billing that splits between company and parent where that applies. Opening hours often follow the employer rather than the school calendar, so the app has to handle extended days and staff who drop children before an early shift.

04

A centre registered for Qurrah support

Centres approved under the HRDF childcare support for working women deal with eligibility records and reconciliations alongside normal fees. We design the admin side to keep those records tidy and exportable, so your team is not rebuilding them by hand each period. The app does not replace the HRDF platform; it keeps your own records consistent with it.

We confirm the current HRDF process with you in discovery.

How we take a Riyadh nursery app from idea to daily use.

  1. 01Visit and workflow mappingWe spend time at your Riyadh centre, at drop off and pickup if possible, and map how children, staff, drivers and parents actually move through the day.
  2. 02Licence and data reviewWe list what your licensing ministry, HRDF and the Personal Data Protection Law require you to record and keep, and how child data will be stored and accessed.
  3. 03Arabic first designParent, teacher and admin screens designed in Arabic first, then English, tested with real staff on the tablets and phones they already use.
  4. 04Build in short releasesWorking builds every few weeks, so your managers see pickup, reports and fees running early and can change direction before anything is fixed. Each release is tested on real devices.
  5. 05Pilot in one roomWe launch with one class or branch, watch how staff and parents use it for a few weeks, and fix friction before rolling out to every room and branch.
  6. 06Support and new featuresAfter launch our Riyadh team handles updates, new term setups and the features parents ask for, on a retainer or as separate releases.

Technology

What we build this with.

We usually build parent and staff apps in Flutter or React Native, with a web admin and a cloud backend hosted where your data policy requires, including inside the Kingdom. Integrations cover mada and card gateways, ZATCA e-invoicing and your accounting system. Where you already use an ERP such as Odoo, we connect fees and invoices to it rather than creating a second set of books.

What Riyadh nursery owners ask us first.

A parent app, a staff app and an admin dashboard, connected.

Parents get check in, pickup authorisation, daily reports, messages and fees. Teachers get a classroom view for attendance, meals, naps and health notes. Managers get enrolment, waitlists, staff rotas and payments. How much of this goes into the first release depends on your size and on which problems cost you the most time today, which we agree together in discovery. Many Riyadh centres start with pickup and daily reports, since those are what parents notice first.
