Wellness apps for the Eastern Province's rotations and field crews.

Our mental wellness app development Dammam service builds private support apps for industrial employers, clinics and universities across Dammam, Khobar and Dhahran. Many people here work long rotations at plants, yards and remote sites, so the apps work offline, follow rotation calendars, connect people to licensed practitioners when they are back in signal and keep a direct route to emergency services one tap away at all times.

These apps support wellbeing and access to care. They do not diagnose or treat, and any clinical work happens with practitioners licensed in Saudi Arabia, never with an automated system acting alone.

What the app can include

Features for people who work away from home and signal.

The Eastern Province workforce has a pattern that shapes every product decision. Large numbers of people work fixed rotations at industrial sites around Dammam, Jubail and further afield, often living in camps or company housing, sometimes with families in another city or another country. They may have strong connectivity for two weeks and almost none for the next two. Support has to be there when they can use it and must not pile up guilt when they cannot.

The capabilities below reflect what Eastern Province clients usually ask for. Clinics and universities in the tri-city area need a different mix, and we adjust the list during discovery rather than forcing every feature into the first release. Each item can also be priced and planned on its own, which makes phasing easier to discuss with procurement.

Explain your project
  • Offline wellbeing toolkit

Audio exercises, reading cards and journal prompts download once and work with no connection at all. Journal entries stay encrypted on the device until the user chooses to sync or share them, and the toolkit is written as general wellbeing content reviewed by your clinicians.

Useful support travels with people to sites without coverage.

  • Rotation aware planning

Users enter their rotation pattern once, and the app offers session slots during time off or in the evenings on site, sends reminders on the right days and pauses nudges while they are in a known no signal period.

Regular contact with a practitioner continues across rotations.

  • Always available emergency screen

One control, visible on every page, lists Saudi emergency numbers and any site emergency contacts your company provides, with one tap calling. Warning signs defined in your clinical protocol open the same screen and alert your duty clinician. Software never judges risk by itself; your licensed clinical lead owns and signs off the protocol.

A person in danger is pointed to emergency help and a human without delay.

  • Location check for cross-border users

Some Eastern Province staff live in Bahrain and cross the King Fahd Causeway each day. Clinical sessions are offered according to where the user is at the time, with licensing rules for each jurisdiction set by your clinical and legal advisers, and the app shows the right emergency contacts for the user's location.

Sessions stay within the rules that apply to where the user actually is.

  • Practitioner credential tracking

Each clinician's Saudi Commission for Health Specialties registration, profession and renewal date are recorded in the admin system and approved by your clinical lead. Profiles disappear from the directory automatically if a renewal is not recorded in time.

Users can only book clinicians who are properly licensed.

  • Trained peer champions

Many site based programmes use trained colleagues as a first point of contact. The app gives champions a guide for listening and signposting, a quick way to share the emergency screen or a booking link, and no access to anyone's records. Champions are always described as peers, never as counsellors.

Colleagues can help someone reach support without overstepping.

  • Family connection while away

Workers on long rotations can share appointment reminders with a spouse or parent, and family members in Dammam or elsewhere can access their own wellbeing content and book sessions under a linked household account. Nothing from one person's sessions is visible to another, and each adult controls their own consent settings.

Families separated by rotations get support on both sides.

  • Consent based handoff to occupational health

Where a user wants their employer's occupational health team involved, for example to adjust duties, the app records explicit consent for exactly what is shared and with whom. Without that consent nothing passes between the clinical service and the employer.

Work adjustments happen only when the employee asks for them.

  • Anonymised programme insight

Company dashboards show uptake by site and rotation, popular toolkit topics and satisfaction, with small groups combined so crews of a few people cannot be identified. No names, notes or individual mood records ever reach the employer view.

Leadership sees whether the programme is used, not who uses it.

  • Billing for employers and individuals

Corporate session allowances billed monthly to the employer, mada, Apple Pay and STC Bank for family members who book privately, and e-invoices issued through a ZATCA compliant accounting integration.

Both funded and self-paid sessions run through one system.

Who this is for

Where Eastern Province clients usually start.

We are a mental wellness app development company serving Dammam clients from our teams in Riyadh and Dubai, and we run discovery workshops, design reviews and testing sessions by video call. That arrangement suits organisations whose people are spread between head offices in Khobar or Dhahran and sites elsewhere in the province. These four situations come up most often, and each needs a different balance between employer, clinical provider and the people using the app.

01

An industrial employer with rotational crews

Companies running plants, yards or construction sites need a programme that reaches people in camps and accommodation as well as in offices. We design the product around offline access, rotation calendars, multilingual content for mixed crews and strict separation between the employer and the clinical provider. The first release often covers one site so the provider can test cover levels before a wider rollout. Camp managers and supervisors receive a short briefing pack on promoting the service, without any access to usage data.

Start with the site where support is hardest to reach.

02

A clinic in Dammam or Khobar going hybrid

Licensed practices in the tri-city area can add video and audio sessions under the Ministry of Health telehealth regulations, so patients who move between the Eastern Province and other regions keep the same practitioner. The app handles booking, intake questionnaires, consent and payment, and gives the clinic one calendar for room and remote sessions. Reminders, waiting lists and simple rescheduling also cut the number of empty appointment slots.

03

A university wellbeing service

Students at institutions such as Imam Abdulrahman Bin Faisal University in Dammam and King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals in Dhahran face heavy academic workloads, and many live away from family for the first time. A campus app offers counsellor booking, workshops around exam periods, moderated group sessions and a prominent emergency route, configured under the university's own data policies. Counsellors control their own hours, and outside them the app shows emergency contacts instead of an open chat.

04

A contractor providing services to larger operators

Service companies often need to show clients that their workforce has access to wellbeing support. Custom mental wellness app development lets you run a branded programme with your chosen clinical provider, report anonymised uptake to your own management, and keep worker data out of client hands entirely. The same app can serve several client contracts, with each crew seeing contacts relevant to their site.

Your clients see that a programme exists, never who uses it.

Our six step plan for an Eastern Province wellness app.

  1. 01Understand sites and rotationsVideo workshops with HR, HSE, occupational health and your clinical provider to map sites, connectivity, rotation patterns, languages and who may see which data.
  2. 02Write the safety protocolYour licensed clinical lead defines warning signs, response times and escalation steps, and we turn that document into testable app behaviour, including site emergency contacts.
  3. 03Design for low connectivityPrototypes tested in airplane mode and on weak networks, with Arabic and English screens and short, calm interactions suited to tired users at the end of a shift.
  4. 04Build and secureApps, dashboards and integrations developed with encryption, role based access and audit logs, then reviewed through security testing before any worker data is loaded.
  5. 05Pilot at one siteLaunch with one crew or location, review escalations with the clinical team, check offline sync in real conditions on site, gather feedback from workers and supervisors, and fix issues before expanding.
  6. 06Extend across the provinceRoll out to further sites and offices, add languages and content, and keep licences, protocols and app store requirements under regular review.

Questions from Dammam and Eastern Province clients.

Yes; offline use is designed in from the start.

The wellbeing toolkit, journal and rotation calendar all work without a connection, and data syncs securely when the device reaches signal or site Wi-Fi. Live sessions still need a connection, so we add audio only calls and booking around time off. The emergency screen with phone numbers is stored on the device, so it always opens even when the app cannot reach the server. We test this in airplane mode and on throttled networks before every release.
