Checkout software for Jeddah shops serving residents, traders and visitors alike.

We handle POS software development Jeddah businesses rely on when one counter must serve a local regular, a wholesale buyer from the port district and a visitor passing through on the way to Makkah. The software covers checkout on tablets or Android terminals, ZATCA Fatoora phase 2 invoices, mada and international card acceptance through your bank's terminal, cashier shifts, offline selling and reporting across every branch you run in the city.

Jeddah trade mixes retail and wholesale, locals and travellers, quiet weekday mornings and packed Ramadan nights. We build the till to handle all of that from one screen, so staff do not switch systems depending on who walks in, and finance gets one set of figures at the end of each trading day.

Built for
Retailers, wholesalers with trade counters, souvenir and travel shops, perfume and abaya stores, and café groups across Jeddah.
Typical timeline
Timing is agreed with you during discovery, once we know your invoice types, terminals and branch count, and it is written down before design work begins.
What you own
Your company holds the code, hosting, ZATCA device registrations and all customer and sales data, with access you can revoke at any time.

What the POS can include

Features shaped by how Jeddah actually buys.

A shop near Al Balad may sell to a pilgrim family in the morning and to a reseller buying cartons in the afternoon. A store on Tahlia Street or in Red Sea Mall sees residents most of the year and visitors during the Umrah season and Jeddah events. Many customers pay with foreign cards, ask for a receipt they can read, or need a proper tax invoice with a company VAT number.

Those mixed needs decide the build. We plan the checkout so the cashier picks the sale type in one tap, and the software handles the right invoice, the right price list and the right payment route behind it. The features below are the ones Jeddah owners ask about most. You choose which belong in the first release and which follow once your team is comfortable.

Explain your project
  • Retail and trade counter in one till

The same screen sells single items at retail price and cartons at wholesale tiers. Trade customers are found by account number, their agreed prices load automatically, and credit limits are checked before the sale is completed. Retail shoppers never see the trade prices. Delivery notes for goods collected later print from the same sale, and outstanding balances show on the customer's account.

One device for walk-in and wholesale sales, with the right price every time.

  • Clearance for business invoices

Under Fatoora phase 2, a standard tax invoice to a VAT registered buyer must be cleared by ZATCA before it is shared. The till captures the buyer's VAT and address details, sends the invoice for clearance, and prints or emails the stamped result. Simplified invoices for walk-in customers are reported separately. If ZATCA rejects an invoice, the clerk sees the reason in plain language and can correct the buyer details before trying again.

Business buyers receive invoices their own accountants will accept.

  • Visitor friendly payments

Through your bank's terminal the till accepts mada for residents and international Visa and Mastercard cards for visitors, with contactless and phone wallets where the terminal supports them. Payment results return to the POS automatically, so cashiers never key a card amount by hand. Cash in riyals is still recorded with change given, and mixed payments across card and cash are handled in one sale.

Fewer declined or mistyped payments from travellers.

  • Receipts customers can read

Arabic receipts meet ZATCA rules, with English lines alongside for visitors. Cashier screens can run in Arabic, English or another language your staff prefer, which matters in stores where the team comes from several countries. Product names are stored in both languages, so a search by English or Arabic name finds the same item.

Fewer disputes at the counter about what was bought.

  • Returns and exchanges

Refunds and exchanges link to the original invoice by scanning its QR code, so the credit note references the right sale and ZATCA records stay consistent. Rules such as exchange only for certain categories or time limits are applied by the system, not by memory.

Clean credit notes and consistent refund decisions.

  • Late night shift handling

During Ramadan and busy seasons many Jeddah shops trade well past midnight. Shifts can cross the date line without splitting a cashier's takings, and the business day closes at the hour you choose rather than at midnight. Supervisors can see open shifts from their phone and close an abandoned one without a branch visit.

Shift reports that match how your staff actually work.

  • Offline trading in older buildings

Connections in older districts and basement units can be unreliable. The till keeps selling without internet, stamps each invoice locally and sends the backlog to ZATCA and your back office as soon as a connection returns, warning a manager if a device stays offline too long.

No lost sales when the network drops.

  • Gift and bundle pricing

Perfume sets, date gift boxes and souvenir bundles are priced as one item while stock is taken from each component. Seasonal bundles can be scheduled to start and end automatically around Ramadan, Eid or a local event. Gift cards bought in one branch can be redeemed in another, with balances checked live or from the last sync when offline.

Promotions that do not need manual discounting at the till.

  • Branch overview for owners

Owners compare branches in Al Balad, the north of the city and the malls by hour, cashier and payment type. Reports separate trade sales from retail and show card payments from foreign issuers, helping you plan staffing around visitor seasons. Daily summaries can arrive on WhatsApp or email at closing time, so owners do not need to log in to see how the day went.

A clear picture of which customers drive each branch.

  • Supervisor controls

Price changes, large discounts, voids and trade credit overrides require a supervisor approval, either by PIN at the till or from the manager's phone. Every action is logged with the user and device.

Tight control without slowing honest sales.

Who this is for

Jeddah businesses that get the most from a custom till.

We do not recommend custom software to everyone. A small single store with ordinary selling rules is often well served by a packaged subscription. The businesses below usually find that standard products force workarounds, and that the workarounds cost them time, tax accuracy or customers. Discovery and reviews for Jeddah clients run by video call with your managers and cashiers, and we ask for short screen recordings of your current till during busy periods.

01

Importers and wholesalers with a trade counter

Your goods arrive through Jeddah Islamic Port and leave by the carton to resellers across the western region. Most of your invoices go to VAT registered buyers, so clearance under Fatoora phase 2 is the heart of the system, along with account pricing, credit limits and delivery notes. We build the counter so a sales clerk can raise a cleared invoice as quickly as a cashier rings up a retail sale. Stock reserved for a trade order is held back from retail shelves until the goods leave.

Clearance and account pricing come first.

02

Shops that sell to Umrah and Hajj travellers

Stores selling clothing, prayer items, dates, perfume and gifts to pilgrims transiting through King Abdulaziz International Airport or the Haramain railway station see sharp seasonal swings. You need fast checkout for groups, foreign card acceptance, readable receipts and staff who can be onboarded quickly for peak months. Group purchases can be split into several invoices when travellers want separate receipts.

Built for seasonal peaks and short staff training.

03

Fashion, perfume and abaya brands with several boutiques

You sell through boutiques on Tahlia Street, in the main malls and online. Customers expect to exchange in any branch, gift cards to work everywhere and loyalty to follow them. We link the boutique tills to each other and to your online store, keeping one customer record without exposing personal data beyond what the PDPL allows. Stock can also be checked from the till across boutiques, so a customer is sent to the right branch instead of being told to come back.

One customer view across boutiques.

04

Café and dessert groups along the Corniche

Evening crowds, families ordering large mixed baskets and weekend peaks put pressure on the counter. You need quick modifiers, split bills, a kitchen or bar display, and shift reports that make sense when trading runs late into the night. We keep the till focused on payment and invoicing, and connect it to separate ordering tools if you use them. Tips and service charges, where you use them, are recorded separately from sales.

Late trading and large baskets handled cleanly.

Six stages from a video call to every Jeddah branch on the new till.

  1. 01Remote discoveryVideo calls with owners, finance and cashiers, plus screen recordings of your current system, map how retail, trade and visitor sales differ in each Jeddah branch.
  2. 02Invoice rulesWe confirm which sales need clearance and which are reported, how credit notes link to originals, and what buyer details trade customers must provide.
  3. 03Screens and receiptsCashier and receipt designs in Arabic and English are tested remotely on your devices, with staff completing timed sample sales before the layout is approved.
  4. 04Build in short cyclesCheckout, pricing tiers, terminal link, offline storage and ZATCA integration are built in fortnightly increments that you can install and try in a branch.
  5. 05ZATCA sandbox and pilotInvoices are tested in ZATCA's simulation environment, then one branch goes live with production device certificates while we compare daily totals against the old system.
  6. 06Rollout and seasonsRemaining branches move over away from Ramadan and Umrah peaks. We then monitor reporting, release updates outside trading hours and plan improvements with you.

Technology

What we build this with.

Tills are typically cross platform apps on Android terminals or iPads, backed by a cloud service and a local database for offline sales. We choose hosting, printers and integrations around your existing hardware, accounting tools and the people who will support the system.

What Jeddah owners ask about a new POS.

Scope drives it, not the city.

We do not publish prices because two tills can differ widely. Cost rises with the number of invoice types you issue, trade pricing and credit rules, the terminal models and banks involved, integrations with accounting or online stores, languages, and how many branches go live in the first wave. In discovery we break the work into phases so you can fund the parts that matter most first and add the rest later.

Tell us what the business needs. We will tell you what to build first.
