A school app for Jeddah families who speak many languages and travel often.

We handle school app development in Jeddah for private Saudi schools and the large community schools that serve Indian, Pakistani, Filipino and other expatriate families. The app gives parents one place for attendance alerts, bus times, fee balances, report cards and school notices, and gives your office one place to send them. In a city where a family may have children at a boys section in one district and a girls section in another, that single view matters.

We keep the app focused on running the school. Classroom learning, homework platforms and tutoring tools are separate products. This page is about the office, the gate, the buses and the parents.

Built for
Community, international and Saudi private schools across Jeddah, including schools with separate boys, girls and kindergarten sites.
Typical timeline
Discovery runs by video call with your principal and office team; the first release is matched to the term you want to launch in and confirmed in writing.
What you own
Your school keeps the code, the store listings, the admin portal and all family and pupil data, in accounts registered to the school.

What we build

The parts of a school app Jeddah offices lean on.

Jeddah's community schools are often very large, with sections spread over several districts such as Al Aziziyah, Al Rehab and Mushrefah, and parents who read English, Arabic, Urdu, Malayalam or Tagalog with very different levels of comfort. Many families travel home for the long summer break and some leave the Kingdom mid year when a work contract ends. A useful app has to handle all of that without making the front office busier.

So we begin with the requests that fill the office inbox: absence reasons, fee questions, transfer certificate requests and bus complaints. Each one becomes a short in-app flow with a clear owner on the staff side. The parent app is designed for older phones and slow connections, because not every family has the newest handset, and notices can fall back to SMS when the app has not been opened.

Explain your project
  • Notices in the parent's language

Staff write a notice once in English or Arabic. The app shows it in the language each parent chose, with translations reviewed by your team before sending for anything sensitive. Short templates for common messages, such as early closure or exam dates, are prepared in every language your families use.

Fewer parents asking a neighbour what the circular said.

  • Sibling view across boys and girls sections

When a brother attends the boys section and a sister the girls section in another district, the parent still sees both children in one app. Each section keeps its own staff, rules and announcements, and the parent's fees, contacts and authorised collectors are entered once and shared.

Families stop being treated as strangers by each section.

  • Documents and certificate requests

Parents request a transfer certificate, a bonafide letter, a fee clearance or an attested copy of results from the app, track its status and collect or download it when ready. The registrar sees a queue with due dates, which helps at year end when many families leave Jeddah at once.

Year end paperwork handled without counter queues.

  • Travel and leave requests

Families who travel before the term ends or return late after the holidays submit the dates and reason in the app. The class teacher and the attendance officer see the request, the principal can approve or decline it, and the absence is recorded correctly instead of appearing unexplained.

Planned absences recorded before they happen.

  • Attendance alerts with SMS fallback

Registers taken in class trigger an alert to the parent when a child is absent or late. If the parent has not opened the app recently, the same alert goes by SMS, so families without reliable data or with a phone left at home still hear about it the same morning.

Every absent child's family is told, app or not.

  • Bus routes and boarding records

Drivers and supervisors share location during each run and mark children on and off the bus. Parents see an estimated arrival for their stop and get a boarding notice. Jeddah traffic near the Corniche and the main ring roads changes by the hour, so arrival times update live rather than from a fixed timetable.

Parents wait less at the roadside in the heat.

  • Fee balances, instalments and receipts

Each family sees tuition, transport and book charges by child and by term. Payment works through mada, Apple Pay and cards via a licensed gateway, and receipts appear instantly. Fee clearance for leaving pupils is calculated in the same place, so nobody is held up waiting for finance to check the ledger by hand.

Finance reconciles from one ledger, not from bank slips.

  • Report cards in your board's format

Whether your school follows CBSE, IGCSE, an American programme or the Saudi national curriculum, report cards publish in the layout your board expects, with term marks, grades and remarks. Parents receive a notice when results are released and can download the PDF to keep or send onward.

Results that look right to parents and to the next school.

  • Staff messaging by section and role

Principals and section heads message teachers, drivers, cleaners or office staff by group, without personal numbers. Urgent items such as a closure for heavy rain can be marked as requiring acknowledgement, and the office sees who has not read them yet.

    Staff instructions confirmed, not assumed.

  • Registrar tools and Noor files

Saudi curriculum schools and community schools affiliated with the Ministry of Education record pupils and results in Noor. Without a public Ministry API to connect to, we give the registrar exports laid out to match the Noor upload templates, plus checks that flag missing ID numbers or mismatched class codes before the file leaves the school.

Ministry reporting prepared from the same records parents see.

Who this is for

Four Jeddah schools we have the app in mind for.

Jeddah's schools are shaped by the city: a port and trading hub with long established expatriate communities, Saudi families in fast growing northern districts, and schools that have grown section by section over many decades. A school app that fits one of these may not fit another. These are the profiles we plan around, and the first release changes with each. Tell us which profile is closest to yours and we will show how the first release would look for it.

01

Large community schools with thousands of families

Schools serving one national community often run several shifts or sections on different sites, with parents whose first language is not English or Arabic. Here the priorities are multilingual notices, fee clearance and certificate requests at scale, and an admin portal that many office staff can use at once without stepping on each other's work.

Scale and languages come first.

02

Saudi private schools in north Jeddah

Newer schools in districts such as Obhur or Al Shati tend to have parents who expect a polished Arabic app and quick payments. We focus on design quality, mada and Apple Pay, live bus tracking and a parent meeting scheduler, and we keep the brand of the school front and centre in both app stores.

Polish and payments matter most to these parents.

03

International schools with a transient parent body

Where families arrive and leave with contracts, admissions and exits run all year. The app handles onboarding new families quickly, collecting documents and medical details, and closing accounts cleanly when a family leaves, with transfer records ready for the next school wherever that may be.

Onboarding and exits are a normal part of every month.

04

Schools moving off spreadsheets and SMS gateways

Some Jeddah schools still run fees in spreadsheets and send bulk SMS through a gateway. We move the data across carefully, keep SMS as a fallback channel for families who need it, and introduce the app class by class so the office is never handling two systems for everyone at once.

Two systems for a short overlap, never for the whole school.

  1. 01Video discovery with your officeWe talk with the principal, registrar, accounts and transport staff by video, and ask for sample circulars, fee statements and report cards to see how the school communicates today.
  2. 02Language and section mapWe list every language your families use, every section and site, and which staff belong to which, because that structure drives permissions and notice templates.
  3. 03Designs tested on real parentsClickable designs go to a small group of parents from different communities, including some on older phones, and we fix whatever confuses them before building.
  4. 04Build and data moveWe build the parent app, staff app and admin portal, and import families, classes, routes and fee plans from your current records with checks at every step.
  5. 05Section by section rolloutOne section goes live first, usually the kindergarten or one grade band, then the rest follow once the office is confident with the new routine.
  6. 06Year end and new year supportWe stay with you through exits, results and the summer rebuild of classes and routes, so the app is ready when families come back from their holidays.

Technology

What we build this with.

Parent and staff apps are usually built in Flutter or React Native so one codebase runs on Android and iOS, including older Android phones that many families use. The admin portal is a web app, and SMS, push and mapping services are chosen to work reliably on Saudi networks. Every choice is written into a handover document, so the school is never tied to us to keep the app running.

What Jeddah schools ask us about school apps.

Whatever your office answers most by phone and at the counter.

For community schools that is usually absence alerts, fee balances and certificate requests. For newer private schools it is often bus tracking and payments. We ask your office to note the reasons for a week of parent calls before discovery, and that list shapes the first release more reliably than any feature catalogue does. Anything that does not make the first release goes on a dated list for the next one, so nothing your staff asked for is quietly dropped.

Tell us what the business needs. We will tell you what to build first.
