Booking and payment platforms for UK pet care groups with sites in several towns.

Pet care booking website development UK groups can run across every branch: Codeeo builds booking websites for multi-site daycares, kennel and cattery groups, grooming chains, franchised walking brands and vet groups. Owners find their nearest site, see prices and availability, book and pay, while head office sees bookings, takings and capacity across the network. Each site keeps its own licence limits, prices and staff, because pet care rules differ between England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

This page covers the booking website and payment platform, not a mobile app. We work with UK clients remotely, running discovery, design reviews, testing and training by video call, so a rollout across several regions is planned with every site at once.

Platform capabilities

One booking platform, many sites, the right rules for each.

A single daycare can live with a booking widget. A group with twelve sites cannot, because each one has its own licence, opening hours, staff, prices and local demand, and head office still needs one view of the business. When groups grow by acquisition the problem is worse: each new site arrives with its own booking tool, customer list and payment account.

We build a single platform that treats each site as a unit with its own rules and reports into a group view. Owners get one account that works at any branch, and franchisees or managers see only what they should. Payments, refunds, deposits and reminders follow group policy with local exceptions where you allow them. The features below are the ones groups ask for most; we scope the set that fits how your network is run. Where a feature only matters to a few sites, such as boarding at the sites that have kennels, it is switched on for those sites alone, so managers elsewhere never see options that do not apply to them.

Explain your project
  • Branch finder and local booking

Owners search by postcode or town and see the nearest sites with their services, opening times and availability. Booking pages are generated per site, with local content and structured data so each branch can be found in local search.

Each site gets its own bookable presence in search.

  • Per site licence and capacity

Licensed places, unit counts and staff ratios are set per site from that site's licence. Rules differ by nation: England licenses under its 2018 regulations, Scotland under its own 2021 regulations, and Wales and Northern Ireland have their own regimes.

No site sells more places than its licence allows.

  • Group and local pricing

Set a group price list and let sites vary it within limits, for example in higher cost areas or at peak dates. Every price shown includes mandatory charges, as the drip pricing rules under the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024 require.

Consistent pricing with room for local variation.

  • Payments across the network

Cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Direct Debit and pay by bank through Open Banking, with Strong Customer Authentication handled by the provider. Takings can settle to one group account or to separate accounts for franchisees.

Money lands in the right account for each site.

  • Franchise and manager roles

Head office, regional managers, site managers and staff each see the bookings, customers and reports their role allows. Franchisees can manage their own diary and prices while the brand controls terms and design.

Control stays where your structure says it should.

  • Vet appointment booking and price lists

Vet groups can offer online booking of routine appointments and publish prices for common services. The Competition and Markets Authority has completed its veterinary market investigation and is putting remedies in place on price information, so we design price pages to be easy to update.

Price information is ready for the transparency owners now expect.

  • Memberships and health plans

Monthly plans for grooming, daycare or preventive care are billed by Direct Debit with clear terms and online cancellation. Selling pet insurance is regulated by the FCA, so we keep insurance referrals separate from your own plans.

Recurring income with terms owners can follow.

  • Welsh language and accessible design

Groups with sites in Wales can offer Welsh language pages and booking steps. Every booking step is designed to WCAG 2.2, which supports your duties under the Equality Act 2010 to make reasonable adjustments for disabled customers.

The booking site works for every owner who uses it.

  • Group reporting

Occupancy, takings, cancellations, refunds and no-shows by site, region and service, with exports for finance and VAT records. Reports use the same data the booking engine runs on, so nobody reconciles spreadsheets.

Head office sees the whole network in one place.

  • Customer accounts that work at any branch

An owner who moves house or travels for work keeps one account, with every pet profile, vaccination record and booking history, and can book at any site in the network. Sites see the records they need for the booking in front of them, while consent and marketing preferences follow the owner rather than the branch.

Owners stay with your brand when they change town.

Who it's for

Four types of UK group we build booking platforms for.

Pet care online booking system development in the UK at network level is a different job from a single site. It means deciding which rules are national, which belong to each site and how data moves when a site joins or leaves. These four situations come up most often in conversations with groups. In each case the platform has to work for owners who never think about your structure, and for managers who think about little else.

01

A daycare and boarding group growing by acquisition

Each site you buy comes with its own booking tool and customer list. We build a single platform, migrate each site's customers and pets as it joins, and keep its licence details and capacity separate. Owners keep their history, and head office gets consistent reporting from the first month a site is on the platform. Sites can move across one at a time, so the rest of the network carries on as normal. Duplicate customers across sites are matched and merged during migration, with a report for each site manager to check.

Phased migration avoids a risky single switchover.

02

A franchised walking or grooming brand

Your franchisees run their own territories but trade under one brand. The platform gives each franchisee their own diary, prices within agreed limits and payment account, while you control the booking experience, terms and brand. Leads from the central site are routed by postcode to the right franchisee, and royalties can be calculated from the booking data. When a franchise changes hands, its customers and history move to the new franchisee under the terms you set.

Territory rules are set by postcode.

03

A vet group adding online booking

Your practices use a practice management system, and owners want to book routine appointments online. We build a booking site that reads availability from your system where it provides an integration, publishes price lists per practice and takes deposits where you choose. Clinical decisions stay with your vets under RCVS guidance; the site handles access and information, not diagnosis. Reminders for vaccinations and repeat appointments can be sent per practice, in line with each owner's consent.

Integration depends on what your practice system allows.

04

A retailer with services in store

You sell pet food and supplies nationally and offer grooming or vet services in some stores. We add a booking platform that sits alongside your shop, so a customer can book a groom at their nearest store and add products for collection. Stock and customer accounts connect to your existing ecommerce system where possible. Store colleagues see the day's grooming bookings on a simple screen, without logging into a separate system.

Six phases from discovery to a network-wide rollout.

  1. 01Network discoveryWe map your sites, services, licences, price structures, payment accounts and systems across each nation by video call, and identify which rules are national and which are local.
  2. 02Platform specificationBooking, capacity, pricing, refund and role rules are written up and approved by head office and a few site managers, so the design suits the people who run sites daily.
  3. 03Pet care booking website designGroup pages, site pages and booking steps designed for owners on phones, built to WCAG 2.2, with Welsh language pages where you need them and prices shown in full.
  4. 04Build and integrationsThe platform, payments, Direct Debit, notifications, reporting and links to practice, retail or accounting systems are built on staging with real test data.
  5. 05Pilot sitesA small number of sites go live first. We watch bookings, payments and support requests, fix what comes up and adjust the rollout plan before the rest of the network moves.
  6. 06Rollout and handoverRemaining sites migrate in agreed waves with redirects and customer invitations, managers are trained remotely and support continues under an agreed arrangement.

Technology

What we build this with.

Network platforms are usually built on Laravel or Next.js with a headless CMS for site content, hosted in your cloud account. We connect payment providers, Direct Debit, accounting and practice systems through their APIs, and document everything for your team. Site managers edit their own opening times, services and prices from the admin within the limits head office sets, and every environment, domain and account is transferred to you at handover.

Questions UK pet care groups ask before building.

It needs per site rules, roles and reporting from the start.

A single site needs a calendar, payments and an admin. A group needs each site to keep its own licence limits, prices, staff and payment arrangements, while head office sees everything together and controls the brand and terms. Data has to be structured so sites can join, move or close without breaking history. We plan this in discovery and agree the rollout as phases, with dates set in a written plan once the scope is clear.
