Yacht charter platforms for operators and brokers across the UK.

Codeeo delivers yacht booking app development UK charter companies, broker networks and marketplaces can run nationally: crewed and skippered charters on the Solent, the West Country and the west coast of Scotland, plus overseas weeks sold from Britain. Clients search by region, dates and yacht type, check the paperwork that applies, pay and sign in one place. Operators keep certificates, crews and calendars current, and head office sees every region and every sales channel together.

A national platform has to fit UK rules on vessels, consumers, data and payments, not just look good. We plan those rules into the product from the first workshop, so growth into new regions does not mean rebuilding the core.

What a UK charter platform needs

The parts that hold a national charter business together.

Charter in Britain is spread thinly across many harbours. A single business might have yachts in Hamble and Lymington, a skippered boat in Falmouth and a partner fleet on the Clyde, while also selling Mediterranean weeks to customers in every part of the country. Each region has its own season, its own operators and its own paperwork. At national level the hard questions are about rules and records: which vessels are coded for commercial use, which customers are qualified to skipper, how consumer law treats a dated booking, and how personal data is handled across many partners. The capabilities below answer those questions, and each one is designed to work the same way whether a yacht sits in Cornwall, Hampshire or Argyll. We usually build the compliance and payment core first, then add regions and channels on top.

Explain your project
  • Regional search and discovery

Customers filter by sailing area, departure marina, dates, cabins and crewed or skippered options. Results respect each operator's minimum charter length and changeover day, so nobody books a Wednesday start where only Saturday changeovers run. Map and list views both work on a phone, and saved searches alert a customer when a yacht opens up in their chosen week.

Customers find yachts they can actually book.

  • Vessel compliance vault

Each yacht's coding certificate under the relevant Maritime and Coastguard Agency code, its insurance and its survey dates are stored with expiry alerts. A yacht whose records have lapsed is hidden from commercial charter listings until the operator uploads new documents. Crew certificates such as medical and sea survival records can be held in the same vault with their own reminders.

Only properly documented yachts appear for sale.

  • Skipper qualification checks

Bareboat customers upload RYA certificates or an International Certificate of Competence, plus a sailing CV. The operator approves or declines inside the platform, and the decision is recorded with the booking. Returning customers do not upload the same certificate twice; the platform reuses it until it expires.

Bareboat decisions are consistent and on file.

  • Operator onboarding

New partner operators register, confirm their company details against the Companies House register, upload yachts and documents, and agree platform terms. Your team reviews each application before any listing goes live, and partners can be paused at once if a document or complaint needs attention.

The network grows without unchecked partners.

  • UK payments and payouts

Card, Apple Pay, Google Pay and Open Banking payments in sterling, euro pricing for overseas weeks, staged deposits and balances, and automatic payouts to operators after commission. VAT invoices are issued in the right name for each party.

Money moves to the right party at the right time.

  • Terms and cancellation engine

Each operator's cancellation, weather and refund terms are stored as rules and shown clearly before payment. Consumer information is presented at the right point in the booking flow, worded by your legal adviser and kept consistent nationwide.

Customers see the terms before they commit, every time.

  • Consent and marketing controls

Email and text marketing respects PECR consent, with preferences that customers can change at any time. Operators receive only the personal data they need for a booking, and every share is logged.

Marketing grows the list without breaking the rules.

  • Accessible booking flow

Screens built to WCAG 2.2, with screen reader labels, strong contrast, clear error messages and a way to state access needs, so operators can respond to reasonable adjustment requests under the Equality Act.

More customers can book without asking for help.

  • National reporting

Bookings, occupancy and revenue by region, marina, operator and channel, with season comparisons, cancellations and lead times. Head office sees which harbours are growing and where yachts sit idle. Reports can be exported to your accounts or business intelligence tools for board packs.

Decisions on new bases are based on data.

  • Partner and broker channel

Independent brokers around the country can sell your fleet through a partner portal, with their own clients, holds and commission, while availability stays controlled from one calendar.

More sales outlets without double bookings.

Who this is for

UK charter businesses we build national platforms for.

A platform built for the whole country only makes sense for businesses whose operations already cross regions, or who plan to. These are the four types of company we most often see. Our team works remotely with UK clients from Dubai, Riyadh and Karachi; discovery, design reviews and demos all take place by video call, wherever in Britain your head office or bases are.

01

Operators with bases in several sailing areas

A company running yachts from the Solent, the South West and Scotland needs one booking system, one customer record and one view of the whole fleet, while each base manages its own crews and changeovers. We design the platform so a base manager sees only their marina, and head office sees everything. Adding a new harbour becomes a configuration task rather than a development project. Where you operate in Scotland, contract wording and consumer terms can differ under Scots law, so the platform can hold separate terms for Scottish bases, approved by your adviser.

Model one region fully before adding the rest.

02

Yacht charter marketplaces

Marketplaces that list yachts from many independent operators carry extra responsibility: checking partners, handling money for others, and presenting each operator's terms accurately. We build onboarding, document checks, split payments and clear disclosure of who provides the charter, so customers know whom they are contracting with. Reviews are tied to completed charters only, which keeps ratings honest and protects good operators from unfair comments.

Your legal adviser should confirm your role as agent or principal.

03

Sailing holiday companies selling abroad

Companies that sell flotillas and crewed weeks in Greece, Croatia or the Balearics to UK customers often bundle flights or hotels. Selling those together can bring the Package Travel Regulations into play, and flights may need ATOL protection. We build flows that show the required information and pass booking data to your protection arrangements; your adviser confirms what applies. Flight times, transfer details and the yacht's boarding instructions then sit together in one itinerary on the customer's phone.

04

National broker networks

Groups of brokers working across Britain need shared availability, individual client books and fair commission splits. The platform gives each broker a private view of their clients and a shared view of inventory, with management reporting across the network. When a broker leaves, their client records stay with the network under the rules you set, and the hand over to a colleague takes minutes rather than weeks of forwarded emails.

Six stages from first workshop to a national rollout.

  1. 01National discoveryVideo workshops with head office, base managers and partner operators to map bookings, compliance records, payments and data sharing across every region you serve.
  2. 02Rules and records designWe document vessel, skipper, consumer and data rules as product requirements, reviewed by your advisers, before any interface design begins.
  3. 03Core platform buildSearch, booking, payments, compliance records and the operator portal are built and tested together, since every later region depends on them.
  4. 04First region launchOne sailing area goes live first, often the busiest, so issues surface on a manageable scale while real customers book.
  5. 05Regional rolloutFurther bases and partner operators are added in planned waves, each with its own checks, data imports and staff training by video call.
  6. 06Continuous improvementNational reporting, customer feedback and operator requests shape each new release, with planned work in the off season.

Technology

What we build this with.

We select the stack to suit national scale: cloud hosting sized for peak booking periods, a shared iOS and Android codebase, and integrations with your accounting, CRM and payment providers. Hosting location is agreed with you to fit UK GDPR obligations.

Questions UK charter companies ask before a national build.

A customer app, an operator portal, an admin system and the compliance records that link them.

Customers need search, booking, payment and documents. Operators need calendars, yacht records and payouts. Head office needs reporting and control across regions. Underneath sit the records that make UK charter lawful and safe: vessel coding, skipper qualifications, consumer terms and data consents. We plan all four layers together so later phases slot in cleanly. A first release usually covers one region and the operators you already trust, which proves the core before the network widens.
