Banking AI agents built for the US dual banking system and its examiners.

Codeeo offers banking AI agent development in the USA for community banks, regional banks, credit unions and fintech lenders. We build agents that answer account questions, take dispute claims, prepare loan files and triage fraud and AML alerts, with every action logged and every decision that affects a customer kept with a person. The point is simple: faster service and lighter back offices without creating findings for your examiners or your fair lending team.

Codeeo has no US office. Our team of 80+ across Dubai, Riyadh and Karachi works remotely with American banks, and discovery, design reviews and sprint demos all run by video call. We have delivered 200+ projects across the UAE and the US.

What we build

Agents mapped to the federal rules your bank already follows.

An AI agent in a US bank does not sit outside the rulebook. If it answers a question about an unauthorized transfer, Regulation E error resolution timelines start. If it helps decide a credit application, the Equal Credit Opportunity Act and Regulation B apply, including specific reasons on any adverse action notice. If it reads customer records, the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act privacy and safeguards requirements apply. And because an agent is built on models, it belongs in your model inventory under the revised interagency model risk guidance that the OCC, Federal Reserve and FDIC issued in April 2026 to replace the 2011 framework. The capabilities below are designed with those obligations written into the workflow, so compliance is a property of the build and not a review at the end.

Explain your project
  • Regulation E dispute intake

The agent recognizes when a customer is reporting an unauthorized or incorrect electronic transfer, captures the facts the error resolution process needs, timestamps the notice and opens a case in your dispute system. It never tells the customer a claim is denied; that decision stays with your operations staff.

Every dispute notice is logged with the date your clock starts.

  • Account servicing in English and Spanish

Balance and transaction questions, card freezes, travel notices, payoff requests and statement copies, answered in the mobile app, online banking and the call center. Spanish is designed in from the first sprint, with reviewed terminology rather than raw machine translation of disclosures.

Routine contacts are resolved without a queue.

  • Loan file preparation

For consumer and small business credit, the agent gathers documents, checks completeness against your checklist and summarizes the file for an underwriter. It does not approve or decline. Any model output used in a credit decision is documented so your team can state specific adverse action reasons.

Underwriters start with complete, summarized files.

  • Fraud and AML alert triage

Alerts from your monitoring system arrive with transaction history, customer profile and prior cases already pulled together, plus a draft narrative. Analysts decide whether to escalate or file. The agent never decides a suspicious activity report on its own, and it never tells a customer an investigation exists.

Analysts spend their time on judgment, not on gathering.

  • Payment exception handling

Returned ACH entries, held deposits and instant payments that need a second look are summarized for your payments team with the relevant history, rules and next steps. The agent drafts the customer message explaining a hold under your funds availability policy, and staff approve before it is sent.

Exceptions are cleared faster with fewer manual lookups.

  • Policy and procedure assistant for staff

Branch and operations staff ask how to handle a request and get an answer drawn only from your approved policies, with the source section quoted. When the policy is silent, the agent says so and routes the question to compliance rather than guessing.

Consistent answers across every branch and shift.

  • Complaint capture and classification

Expressions of dissatisfaction are recognized in chat, email and call transcripts, tagged by product and issue, and routed to your complaint management process with the customer's own words preserved for review and trend reporting.

Fewer complaints missed in ordinary service traffic.

  • Outbound contact controls

Payment reminders and servicing messages respect consent records, quiet hours and opt-outs before anything is sent, with Telephone Consumer Protection Act consent checked for calls and texts. Collections language is reviewed for unfair, deceptive or abusive practice risk before launch.

Contact rules are enforced by the system, not by memory.

  • Model inventory and monitoring pack

Each agent ships with documentation your second line can use: purpose, data sources, limitations, evaluation results, monitoring thresholds and change history. Vendor models are documented as third party models, with the testing you can do even when the provider's internals are closed.

Validation and audit start with a complete file.

  • Core and digital banking integration

Agents read and act through the APIs your core processor, card platform and digital banking provider expose, with permissions scoped per action. Where a provider offers no API, we agree a safe interim route rather than screen scraping customer accounts.

Agents work inside your existing stack.

Who this is for

Four kinds of US institution we build agents for.

The US has thousands of banks and credit unions, chartered at federal or state level and supervised by different agencies. A national bank answers to the OCC, a state member bank to the Federal Reserve and its state regulator, a state nonmember bank to the FDIC and its state regulator, and a federal credit union to the NCUA. Larger institutions also face direct CFPB supervision. The right agent design depends on who examines you, how many states you serve and how much in-house model risk capacity you have.

01

Community banks with a lean compliance team

You want help in the contact center and the back office but cannot staff a large model validation function. We start with a narrow agent, such as account servicing or document collection, where the risk is easier to bound and the evaluation can be explained in plain terms. The OCC has said community banks may tailor model risk management to their risk profile, and we design documentation at a depth that matches the agent's actual use.

Small scope first, then expand once examiners have seen it.

02

Regional banks operating across several states

Your customers live under different state privacy, recording and collection rules. We build state rules into configuration, so call recording notices, contact windows and disclosures follow the customer's state rather than a single national script. Rollout goes state by state, with your compliance team signing off each market before the agent goes live there.

One agent, configured per state.

03

Credit unions serving members across a field of membership

Member service is the product. We design agents that sound like your credit union, hand off to a person quickly and support member education on loans, savings and fraud scams. Integration with your core processor and online banking platform is planned in discovery so the agent sees the same member record your staff see.

Member records stay in your core, not in a copy.

04

Fintech lenders and bank partners

When a bank partner holds the charter and you run the experience, both sides need evidence. We build agents with logs and documentation that satisfy your bank partner's third party risk review under the 2023 interagency guidance, and we treat the Federal Trade Commission Safeguards Rule as the GLBA security baseline where it applies to you as a nonbank.

Built to pass a partner bank's vendor review.

Six stages from first use case to a supervised agent in production.

  1. 01Use case and risk tieringWe list candidate tasks, rate each by customer impact and regulatory exposure, and pick a first agent where value is clear and the decision stays with your staff.
  2. 02Data and permission mappingWhich systems the agent reads, which actions it may take, which nonpublic personal information it touches and where that data is stored, written down before any code.
  3. 03Conversation and workflow designScripts, escalation triggers, disclosure wording and Spanish content reviewed by your compliance team, so the agent says what your bank would say.
  4. 04Build with guardrailsScoped tool access, prompt injection defenses, redaction of sensitive fields in logs and refusal behavior for anything outside the agent's approved tasks.
  5. 05Evaluation and validation supportTest sets built from realistic questions, fairness checks where outputs touch credit, and a results pack your validators can challenge and reproduce.
  6. 06Phased rollout and monitoringStaff pilot, then a limited customer group, then wider release by state or channel, with drift, accuracy and complaint signals watched against agreed thresholds. A clear switch-off path is tested before launch.

Technology

What we build this with.

We work with the major model providers and open models, hosted in your own AWS, Azure or Google Cloud environment where your policies require it. The choice is made per agent, based on data sensitivity, latency and what your validators can test. Retrieval runs against your approved document stores, and every component can be swapped without rewriting the agent.

Questions US banks ask before building an AI agent.

It depends far more on your review gates than on the code.

A narrow servicing agent can be built quickly, but your model risk review, vendor due diligence, information security sign-off and compliance testing set the real pace. We plan those reviews into the schedule from discovery, share documentation early so validators are not waiting on us, and agree dates in writing once your teams have confirmed their own review windows. We also list which reviews can run in parallel, such as information security and compliance script review, so the critical path stays short.

Tell us what the business needs. We will tell you what to build first.
