The Gorgeous Flower came to Codeeo with a clear brief. Their customers expect beauty and convenience, so a fast checkout sat at the centre of the build.
About the client
The Gorgeous Flower is a Dubai floral boutique working in one of the most gift driven retail markets anywhere. Flowers here are bought for birthdays, weddings, apologies, corporate thank yous and Eid, usually at short notice and usually from a phone.
What they needed
Gifting is an impatient purchase. The customer knows roughly what they want, needs it to arrive on a particular day, and will leave for another florist if the checkout asks too much of them.
The store had to show the arrangements properly, because flowers sell on the photograph, and still get someone from product page to paid in as few steps as the payment gateway allows.
What we built
A WooCommerce store with the gifting logic at the front rather than bolted on at the end. Occasion, recipient and delivery date shape the journey instead of being extra fields at checkout.
Photography is given room to work at full width on a phone, since an arrangement that looks small on screen does not sell, and product pages carry the details a buyer wants before paying: what is in the arrangement, what size it is, and when it can arrive.
Checkout was cut back to what is genuinely required, with local payment methods and a delivery step that treats the recipient and the buyer as two different people, which is how gifting actually works.
How we worked
We started from the checkout and worked backwards, because on a gifting store every screen before the payment exists to get the customer to it.
The store runs on WooCommerce so the team can add a collection for a season or an occasion without a developer.
The store, the payment accounts and the hosting belong to the boutique, and the team was shown how to run the catalogue themselves.
