Diyafah International School came to Codeeo with a clear brief. With students, parents and staff spread across campuses, the site had to work as the connective tissue for the whole institution.
About the client
Diyafah International School teaches a student body of more than 2,400 drawn from over 40 nationalities. A school of that size is really three audiences at once: families deciding whether to apply, families already enrolled, and the staff who keep the week running.
What they needed
School websites usually fail in the same way. They are built for the prospectus and then asked to carry the term, so a parent hunting for a bus timetable ends up in a marketing brochure and a prospective family lands in a portal they cannot use.
Diyafah needed one site that could serve all three audiences without any of them feeling like an afterthought, and that a member of staff could update without calling an agency.
What we built
A website organised around the people who use it rather than around the school's internal departments. Admissions has a route of its own that answers the questions applying families actually ask, in the order they ask them.
Current families get the practical layer: term dates, letters, policies and the day to day information that is the real reason a parent opens a school site on a phone at seven in the morning.
Content types were modelled on what the school genuinely publishes, so news, events, policies and year group pages each behave the way that kind of content behaves, and nothing has to be forced into a generic page.
How we worked
We wrote the structure with the school before designing a page, because a school site lives or dies on navigation rather than on decoration.
The team was trained on the content model they would be using, so the site could be kept current through the year by the people who know what changed.
The domain, the hosting and the logins are in the school's name, and the content model is documented for whoever maintains it next.
