In short

Automotive products reward teams who understand the vehicle, not just the screen. We have built live auctions with bidding and PayTabs in two languages, a vehicle classifieds app with dealer inventories, a diesel tuning product where we wrote the app, the API and the microcontroller firmware, and a parts store that starts from the customer's car.

What the sector asks of software

Three things every automotive build has to get right.

Each one is drawn from a project on this site, not from a sector report.
01

Bidding happens live, on a phone, in two languages

Pioneer Auctions runs cars, general material, livestock and charity auctions from one platform. Bidders follow the calendar, bid live, keep a wishlist and pay through PayTabs, in English or Arabic.

02

A car listing has details that generic classifieds ignore

List It builds ads in steps and filters by the details that matter for a vehicle, gives dealers a page with every live ad, and keeps the conversation in app rather than on a leaked phone number.

03

Sometimes the software has to touch the hardware

RunVSE is firmware, an app and an API built by the same team so they agree: the microcontroller talks to the truck, the API carries accounts and real time state, the app gives owners guides and a Prime tier.

PIONEER AUCTIONS

An auction app and website for cars, general goods, livestock and charity sales, with live bidding, wishlists and PayTabs payments.

Pioneer Auctions runs several auction types from one platform. Bidders follow a calendar, join live auctions, bid, keep a wishlist and pay through PayTabs, in English or Arabic. Sellers list their own items and inventory from the same app.

RUNVSE

A tuning and calibration product for diesel trucks: a mobile app, an API and the microcontroller firmware that talks to the vehicle.

RunVSE is software and hardware together. The app gives owners guides, a Prime tier, profiles and notifications; the API handles accounts and real time updates; and the microcontroller firmware is the piece that actually talks to the truck. All three were built by the same team so they agree.

CLOCKSPRINGS AUSTRALIA

A WooCommerce store for Clocksprings Australia, a Launceston parts business: more than 4,500 clock springs, sensors, switches and ADAS parts, found by make and then model across 37 makes.

Clocksprings Australia has supplied mechanics, auto electricians, dealers and car owners since 2016. Its customers know their car, not the part number, so the store starts from the make and says on every product which models and years the part fits.

Sector notes

What building automotive software has taught us.

Four products across auctions, classifieds, parts and connected hardware. These are the things we would say to an auction house, a dealer platform or a parts retailer before the first sprint.

01

Bidding is live, mobile and bilingual

Pioneer Auctions runs four auction types from one platform: cars, general material, livestock and charity sales. Bidders follow a calendar, join live auctions, bid, keep a wishlist and pay through PayTabs, in English or Arabic with right to left built in. Sellers list their own items and inventory from the same Flutter app, and a PHP web platform carries the auction website.

Live bidding on a phone cannot stutter, so state is kept consistent between the app and the web platform, and payment settles through the provider's confirmation rather than a tap. The redesign of the auction markup gave the website the same clarity the app has.

02

A vehicle ad is not a generic classified

List It gives private sellers and dealers one place to post and buyers one place to look. Ads are built in steps with the two formats a vehicle needs, filtered by the details that matter for a car, and the conversation happens in app with favourites and spam reporting rather than on a leaked phone number. Dealers get a page with every live ad from one seller.

The stack is a Flutter app, a Next.js website and Go services, chosen for the volume of listings and searches a classifieds platform has to serve. Vehicle specific filters are the difference between a buyer finding the right car and leaving.

03

Sometimes the software has to touch the hardware

RunVSE is a tuning and calibration product for diesel trucks, and it is three layers built by one team so they agree: microcontroller firmware that talks to the truck, a Node.js API with sockets and Firebase for accounts and real time state, and a Flutter app that gives owners guides, profiles, notifications and a Prime membership tier.

Building firmware, API and app together removed the usual gap where the hardware team and the app team blame each other for a state that does not match. For any connected vehicle product, that single team is the decision that matters most.

04

Parts customers know their car

Clocksprings Australia supplies genuine and aftermarket clock springs, steering angle sensors and switches to mechanics, auto electricians and car owners. Nobody searches for those by part number, so the WooCommerce store shops by make and then model across 37 makes, with the models and years each part fits stated on every product and a 12 month warranty on every part.

What we build

From the bidding floor to the control unit.

Each capability below has shipped for an auction house, a classifieds platform, a parts retailer or a hardware maker.
Explain your project
  • Auction platforms

Calendars, live bidding, my bids, wishlists and seller listings, with payments through PayTabs.

Bidders bid live on a phone in English or Arabic and pay in app.

  • Vehicle classifieds

Stepped ad creation, vehicle specific filters, favourites, in app chat and spam control, with dealer pages.

Buyers filter by the details that matter for a car and chat in app.

  • Parts and accessories stores

Shop by make and model, fitment data per product, OE quality stated on every listing.

Customers go from their car to the right part in two clicks.

  • Connected vehicle products

Microcontroller firmware, a real time API and the owner's app, designed together.

Firmware, API and app agree on every state because one team built them.

  • Arabic and English apps

Bidder and seller apps built right to left, not translated afterwards.

Bidder and seller apps work right to left from day one.

  • Go, Node and PHP back ends

List It runs Go services, RunVSE a Node.js API with sockets, Pioneer a PHP web platform. We pick what the product needs.

The stack fits the volume and the product, not a habit.

How it ships

How an automotive product ships with us.

The path Pioneer Auctions, List It, RunVSE and Clock Springs Australia took, from the vehicle to a release that bids, lists, tunes and sells.
