WordPress that marketing edits without breaking the design.

Q: Will the design break when we edit pages?

Not with blocks built for your layouts. Custom blocks and patterns give editors the options they need and lock the ones that would break the design. The theme is a child theme, so updates do not undo it.

Q: Can you fix our slow WordPress site?

Usually, and often without a rebuild. A plugin audit, caching, image and font fixes and a lean theme solve most speed problems. Where the theme itself is the issue, we rebuild it.

Q: Do you handle hosting and security?

We set it up and can maintain it. Managed hosting, backups, updates, firewall and roles are configured, and a retainer keeps them maintained.

Q: Can WordPress run a store?

Yes, with WooCommerce. See our WooCommerce page for stores. The same theme and editing approach applies, with the catalogue and checkout added.

WordPress development for companies that want a site their team runs: a theme designed for the brand rather than bought, blocks the editors understand, a short plugin list, and the speed and security work most WordPress sites never get.

Our WordPress sites include a clinic that edits its own pages on a child theme that survives updates.

What you get

What our WordPress development covers.

A theme the brand owns, blocks the team edits, and the plumbing that keeps the site fast and safe. Clients come to us for WordPress development done properly: custom themes, few plugins, and WordPress developers who document what they build.

Explain your project

Custom themes
Themes designed for the brand and built as child themes, so the design survives parent and core updates.
The site looks designed and stays that way through updates.
Custom blocks and patterns
Gutenberg blocks and patterns for the layouts the team uses, with the options they need and none they do not.
Editors build pages that look right without a designer.
Plugin audit
Plugins reviewed, consolidated and documented, with the ones nobody uses removed.
A faster site and fewer things to update.
Speed and Core Web Vitals
Caching, images, fonts and scripts fixed at the source, measured in the field.
The site passes the thresholds Google measures.
Security and hardening
Updates, backups, firewall, user roles and the exposures most sites leave open.
The site survives the scans every WordPress site gets.
Headless WordPress
WordPress as the editor with a Next.js front end, where speed and custom interaction matter.
Editors keep WordPress; visitors get a fast product site.

Who this is for

Three WordPress sites we build most.

WordPress is right for a great many marketing sites. These are the situations where our work makes the difference. Our WordPress developers recommend headless WordPress only when the content team still gets the editor they know.

A template that never fit the brand

A bought theme with the brand colours applied. A custom theme designed for the business, editable by the team.

Designed, not adapted.

A slow, fragile site

A page builder, forty plugins and a theme nobody chose. An audit, a lean theme and a plugin list you can read.

Fast and simple.

A team that must publish without a developer

Marketing waits for an agency for every change. Blocks and patterns built for their pages end the queue.

Self-serve publishing.

Four steps to a WordPress site the team runs.

01Content and editing needsWe list the page types, the layouts the team reuses and what editors need to change, before design.
02Theme and blocksA custom child theme and a set of blocks are built to the design system, with the editor experience tested by the team.
03PlumbingPlugins, caching, images, security and backups are set up and documented.
04Launch and maintainRedirects, analytics and speed checks at launch, then a retainer for updates and improvements.

Healthcare

EGL AESTHETIC

A WordPress site for an aesthetic clinic with a custom child theme, blog banners and widgets designed for the brand rather than borrowed.

EGL Aesthetic needed a site the clinic could edit and that looked like the clinic rather than a template. It runs on WordPress with a custom theme built on top of Astra, so the team edits pages and posts while the layout stays the designed one.

How we work together

Three ways to buy WordPress development.

Hosting and plugin licences are yours. Our fee covers the theme, blocks, plumbing and launch. Our approach to WordPress development includes headless WordPress where the front end needs to be faster than a theme allows.

Fixed scope

A defined build with a deadline

We agree what the site or store has to do, write it down with a price and a date, and build exactly that. Changes are priced before they are made, not discovered on the invoice.

Written scope and acceptance criteria
Fixed price and delivery date
Weekly build on a URL you can open
30 days of fixes after launch

Questions people ask before a WordPress project.

WordPress or Next.js?

WordPress when the team wants to publish themselves on a marketing site; Next.js when speed and custom interaction lead.

Many sites are right on WordPress. Where a product front end, heavy interaction or top speed matters, we build Next.js, sometimes with WordPress as the editor behind it.
